The committee of Shahbazpur Social Welfare Council has been restructured.
In this regard, a meeting was organized on Thursday (December 26) at the local union council hall in the Barlekha upazila of Moulvibazar.
In this meeting, Kazi Humayun Rashid Chowdhury was appointed as the president, and prominent social worker and businessman Anwar Hossain from Shahbazpur Bazaar was designated as the general secretary, forming a new committee consisting of 41 members.
At this time, a 14-member executive committee and a 15-member advisory committee were also formed.
The other members of the restructured committee include Vice Presidents Abdul Malik, Saiful Islam, and Sahed Ahmed; Assistant Secretaries Imdadur Rahman and Ahmed Hossain Mollah; Treasurer Russell Ahmed; Assistant Treasurer Abdus Subhan Mamun; Organizational Secretary Golam Kibria Chowdhury; Assistant Organizational Secretary Ahmed Sharif Jahangir; Publicity Secretary Saidul Islam; Assistant Publicity Secretary Mizanur Rahman; and Office Secretary Nazmul Kaiser.
According to those involved, the Shahbazpur Social Welfare Council began its journey in 2011.
Since then, the organization has contributed to various social and humanitarian efforts, including the distribution of winter clothing, providing medical services to the needy, and organizing Tafsir Mahfil every year.
However, in recent years, the organization's activities had stagnated for various reasons.
With the renewed initiative to restart the organization's activities, there has been significant interest and enthusiasm among the conscious public.
It is hoped that this organization will work for the welfare of the underprivileged people in the Shahbazpur region in the future.
