Journalists will not be allowed to enter the Secretariat.

The government has canceled all types of temporary passes (for private individuals) for entering the Secretariat, except for the temporary entry passes issued to government officials and employees.

Additionally, the accreditation cards issued to journalists for entering the Secretariat have also been revoked until further notice.

This information was disclosed in a press release signed by Mohammad Khoda Bakhsh Chowdhury, special assistant to the chief advisor on duty at the Ministry of Home Affairs, on Friday night (December 27).

The press release states that this order has been issued in light of the situation arising from the fire incident at the Secretariat, which has compromised security.

It is mentioned in the press release that, in the interest of enhancing overall security at the Bangladesh Secretariat, all types of temporary entry passes (for private individuals) have been canceled, except for the permanent entry passes (Digital Access Control System) issued to officials and employees working at the Secretariat and the temporary entry passes issued to government officials and employees.

It further states that the right of entry to the Secretariat using the accreditation cards issued to journalists has been revoked until further notice.

Holders of the canceled various categories of Secretariat entry passes can apply for new temporary entry passes through a special cell established at the Bangladesh Police, Crime Command and Control Center, 15 Abdul Goni Road, Dhaka, within the next 15 days.
